Located at 660 Clinton Ave, Newark, NJ 07108, Kwok Ping Restaurant operates as a chinese restaurant serving Newark in New Jersey. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 12β9:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Kwok Ping Restaurant at (973) 375-0566; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, chinesefoodnewarknj.com.
Its Google rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 109 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
Newark is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Newark follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Wow. This place, so far the food has been great! Although like another review said, there is really not atmosphere in the restaurant, you just order & wait. Thatβs literally it. The menu is there with the prices & an atm. Plenty of waiting space just no chairs or places to sit. Moved to Newark 3 years ago and finally found a Chinese food place I can order from without having to go all the way back to Linden for some actual good food. Aishaβs was okay when I first got here but as time passed there chicken & broccoli sauce became so dark & bitter to me just a major turn off. This place chicken & broccoli is so fresh you can tell & the broccoli steaming in the container on the way home just perfects the bite of the broccoli to me. It was great. 4th time getting food here & havenβt been disappointed yet

March 2026: THEY ONLY TAKE CASH!!! ATM inside. I donβt like that at all because typically it means a business is not paying proper taxes but I digress.. Iβm new to area. Had to do some laundry so walked next door for dinner. No inside seating or π½ bathrooms . No attention to decor or atmosphere. So just order and leave cause itβs Nothing to look atπ Wings wings wingsβ¦ fried hard ! Did not disappoint! I must say the prices are up everywhere and the food quantity has reduced but these still had good quality. Perfectly seasoned and fried. The rice I added an egg no pork. It was ok but not as flavorful as it should be. Aishaβs Chinese on Bergen so far got the best. Only waited about 8mins and my food was done! Lots of people ordering the uptownβs teas and lemonade so next time Iβm gonna try it. Shock to see plantains and lots of sauced wing options. They ran out of the BBQ sauce for the day. Must be good. Lunch special is Tuesday-Saturday ending at 3pm.. starts at $9.75β¦ no more $6 lunches no more I guess. Would come again maybe for the wings. Not that big on the rice nor the smaller amount they give out. Iβve tried several Chineseβs dining here and they all have reduced the amo

The reviews did not lie. Full of flavor. I just recently move to the area and so far the best Iβve tried. Except the egg roll, it was ok. A lil spicy. But overall I'll definitely order again. I did an ONLINE ORDER for DELIVERY. They use grub hub. It arrived exactly the time it was supposed to. We order: -Egg foo young w/ fried rice ( rate 8/10) -Vegetable fried rice w/ chicken wings ( rate: 10/10) -Shrimp egg roll ( rate: 5/10 )

The food was really good, he was kind, and patient with me while I figured out what I wanted to eat. The food was hot, and freshly cooked even when I got home. Gave me sufficient sauces, I bought a small order of plantains, chicken wings and fried rice, small veg lo mein, and a small order of spare rib tips was about 32$ the portions were good I was able to share it with my family of 4. Iβm pretty sure the atmosphere is better during the day than at night, just being honest at night probably better to order over the phone and pick it up when itβs ready if youβre not familiar with the area might not be a comfortable environment for you but places like this is where youβre going to find some of the best Chinese food, and they didnβt disappoint. Pops was asking where I got it from how good it was. Iβll be coming back for sure for the record it was my first time here, so they definitely earned this review, and if they can see this I want to say thank you.

I been to this place several times and never had a problem. On Jan. 26 I decided to walk in and order a large wonton egg drop soup and 4 chicken wings. I ate about 3/4 of the soup before I saw a catepillar floating in it. I completely lost my appetite (which means no wings for me) and I'm so disgusted. If I could give this restaurant ZERO stars I would. I WILL NEVER EAT FROM THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN. It's pretty obvious they have a pest control problem. Customers beware!!!!!!!
